Hello there! As I right this, it is about 3 pm on the Friday the 12th, making it the third day of our project, and boy has a lot happened. Let's jump right in:
For the first few days, Luke and I have been working out of the green rooms, focusing on writing scripts for episodes 1 and 2. We have decided to split up the work by episode, with Luke writing episode 1, me writing episode 2, and both of us editing and providing feedback on both. We also are working together on all of the outlines for all of the episodes so we both have input on what's actually happening in the podcast. On day one, we worked through the outlines for episodes 1 and 2, building detailed descriptions of what would happen in each story, what order things would happen in, and what characters would be involved. In the afternoon, I had to go off to take the AP bio test while Luke began drafting episode 1.

On day two, it was more writing. We spent the morning outlining episodes 3 and 4. We also completed our drafts of episodes 3 and 4, as well as two rounds of editing, meaning we both edited both stories. Day two wasn't super flashy, but it was quite productive in terms of writing output.
On day three, the first order of business was completing the scripts for episodes 1 and 2. We did a final round of editing, and now we are ready to begin recording those episodes. We began the process of finding people to help voice act on the show, as there are a lot of different characters, creating a Calendly to help manage all of the different people's schedules. We also managed to setup a meeting with our mentor on Monday so that we can discuss project details and ask about advice on recording and production. Finally, we began the process of learning about editing audio and finding sound effects that we'll need to use later. For example, we recorded our own gavel sound effect. One of our little experiments was trying to edit together two different voices that were recorded at different times and make them sound like a real conversation that took place in the same room.

At this point, we're feeling pretty good about where we're at with our project. Our plan for next week is to be done recording audio for episodes 1 and 2 by the end of Wednesday so we can begin editing. We're writing drafts for 3 and 4 over the weekend. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will mostly be recording audio, with work on the scripts for episodes 3 and 4 interspersed in the times between recording sessions. Our meeting with our mentor is Monday morning, which should set a good tone for the rest of the week. Our goal is to have essentially completed episodes 1 and 2 by the end of the week, which should keep us on pace to have all five of our episodes done by the end of the project. Thanks for reading, and I'll check back in on Tuesday!
